My Way: Mike Burroughs and the Story of StanceWorks

Cars were not always part of Mike Burroughs’ plan.
There was no childhood certainty that he would become a builder, fabricator, photographer, or the founder of one of the most recognizable names in modern automotive culture. The interest arrived later. Once it did, it began to shape nearly everything that followed.
Mike is the creator behind StanceWorks, an automotive platform built around doing things differently. Over the years, his projects have grown from deeply personal builds into cars followed by enthusiasts around the world. Each one carries his willingness to question convention, learn unfamiliar skills, and pursue an idea far beyond the point where most people would settle for good enough.
That progression made Mike a natural subject for the return of GYEON Global’s My Way series, which comes back after a four-year break. GYEON’s official feature describes the film as the story of his journey from discovering cars to creating some of the automotive world’s most recognizable projects.
The film takes a step back from any single build to look at the person behind them. Mike reflects on where the interest began, how it developed, and the moments that pushed him toward a life centered around creating cars his way.

That is what makes My Way more than a profile of a successful automotive creator. It is a film about discovering an interest unexpectedly and continuing to follow it as it grows into something much larger. Mike’s path was not predetermined, and many of the skills behind his work were learned because a new idea demanded them.
